This Ilsayusa is a collection of stories of the lowest and middle class people during the Joseon Era
by Jang Ji-yeon and it included the story of An Yong-bok.
An Yong-bok was a man from Dongrae and he was fluent in Japanese as he gained Waekwan frequently.
During the reign of King Sukjong (1675-1720), Japanese were shown frequently around Ulreung-do and Dok-do
and he personally went to Japan along with his colleague to make them aware that Ulreung-do
and Dok-do were the lands of Joseon and received the memorandum from Edo Makbu of Japan not to cross the boundary of Joseon again.
