When Jung Yak-jeon was exiled to Heuksan-do of Jeolla-do in 1814, he wrote this book.

It classified various fishes and aqua-plants found in the Heuksan-do area into ones with scale, without scale, hard shell, and miscellaneous types (aqua-organism not fish) to explain the total of 155 types of organisms.

Among them, the miscellaneous types were further divided into sea insects, birds, animals, and plants and this type of systematic classification was highly assessed.

The exhibited Jasaneobo was the copy by Dr. Jung Mun-ki for his studying and Dr. Jung was the first fishery scholar of Korea.

He researched fishes of Korea with the first naming for many with his great research accomplishment.
