The harrow was used when the earth in the mudflat needed to be plowed to produce sea salt.
Traditional sea salt making was referred to “salt farming”, since people reformed the tools for farming
to produce sea salt or used the tools without changing the forms.
Although Harrows and rakes are farming tools, those are also used for salt farming,
breaking up the soil and leveling the ground.
