Since Jeju-do does not have sufficient water, women living in the island had to gather water from a distance away
and they carried water using the jar named Mulheobeok.
Heobeok is a type of container which has the shape of bottle with a round body and a narrow mouth.
Because of the design, it can be carried on one’s back without spilling water.
The narrow mouth was also used as a handle too.
